Israel is the only nation in the region that refused to join the NPT. In 2010, 189 countries demanded it sign. Israel said no. In 2022, the UN General Assembly voted to make the Middle East a nuclear-weapons-free zone. 152 countries said yes. The United States, Israel, Canada, and two tiny Pacific islands voted no. Iran voted yes.
The hypocrisy is blatant and truly sickening. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has called out the US government’s double standard in print. Even a top World Health Organization official warned this month of the very real risk of nuclear catastrophe. Yet the official line in Washington and Tel Aviv remains unchanged: Iran is the danger.
The Trump Advisor Who Just Broke the Script
David Sacks is no peacenik. He is a core member of the PayPal mafia alongside Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. A billionaire who bought a $23 million Hollywood Hills mansion. A key architect of Trump’s anti-China tech policies. He has praised Trump’s previous strikes on Iran and insisted the president had “threaded the needle perfectly.”
That was last June.
Now, on his All-In podcast, the same David Sacks delivers a stark warning that should terrify anyone paying attention:
“You also have to consider the impacts on Israel… Israel is getting hit harder than they’ve ever been hit before in their history. And we’re only two weeks into this. If this war continues for weeks or months, then Israel could just be destroyed or very large parts of it. And then you have to worry about Israel escalating the war by contemplating using a nuclear weapon, which would truly be catastrophic.”
He is not alone in seeing the danger. But the fact that one of Trump’s most powerful insiders is saying it publicly changes everything.
The Attrition War Iran Is Actually Winning
Iran’s strategy is simple and devastatingly effective. It began with cheap drones and old missiles designed to exhaust Israel’s interceptors and those of the US-backed Gulf monarchies. Each Iranian kamikaze drone costs about $20,000. Each Israeli or Gulf interceptor costs millions. The math does not work over time.
US officials have admitted Israel is already running low on interceptors. The US military-industrial complex produces only a few hundred per year. Supply chains are bottlenecked. The de-industrialized American economy cannot ramp up fast enough. Meanwhile, Iran, a country of more than 90 million people with a real military, keeps launching.
Social media inside Israel tells the story the censored press will not. Israeli analyst Shal Ben Iraim posted: “Israel has been pummeled all night. My WhatsApp groups are filled with people having breakdowns. In Jerusalem, four alerts were heard in a 90-minute span. Iran has been able to increase the number of launches daily.”
The Israeli regime responds with arrests for anyone posting footage. The UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain do the same. Even Forbes had to admit it: these are some of the worst dictatorships on Earth, yet they are America’s closest allies in the region. Democracy and human rights were always propaganda.
The Desalination Plants That Could Make the Gulf Uninhabitable
The war has already crossed another terrifying threshold. The US and Israel bombed an Iranian desalination plant. Iran retaliated by striking one in the Gulf. These plants are the only reason millions can live in the desert. Riyadh gets 70 percent of its water from them. Roughly 100 million people on the Arabian Peninsula depend on desalination.
David Sacks again: “The region is very dependent on desalination plants… if you see that type of destruction continue, you could literally render the Gulf almost uninhabitable. You’re not going to have enough water for 100 million people. And human beings just cannot survive very long without water.”
America’s so-called allies are learning what Henry Kissinger meant when he said it may be dangerous to be America’s enemy, but to be America’s friend is fatal.
The Ultimate Irony: We Created the Iranian Bomb We Feared
For decades, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei opposed nuclear weapons on religious grounds. He issued a fatwa declaring them a sin. Iran voted repeatedly at the UN for a nuclear-free Middle East. It signed the 2015 JCPOA and complied with it. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed it.
Then Trump tore up the deal in 2018. Sanctions followed. Negotiations were used as cover for surprise attacks. The US and Israel killed Khamenei on day one of this war. His more militant son now leads. Iranian military commanders had already begun pushing to revoke the fatwa even before his death.
A British security advisor who sat in the Geneva talks called Iran’s latest offer “significant enough to prevent a rush to war.” Oman’s foreign minister said Tehran was ready to make major concessions. The US struck anyway.
The South China Morning Post now asks openly: “Why the world may now need an Iranian nuclear bomb?” Because only a deterrent like North Korea’s has ever stopped American regime-change wars.
This was never about stopping proliferation. It was about maintaining dominance. The result is the opposite of what Washington claimed it wanted.
Historians will record the bitter truth: Iran was not racing for a bomb. The United States and Israel made sure it eventually would.
